Integrating HomeHighlight’s Content With Your NetReal Website

You can integrate HomeHighlight’s content into your NetReal website following these three easy steps (don't be scared by the length of this page, it contains screenshots):

STEP 1. GETTING THE HTML CODE

1.1 Getting the basic version of the code

The basic version of the code (the raw version) will export all of HomeHighlight’s categories, using the default font settings. Your visitors will not have access to the co-branded newsletter.

!!-- Important: For this step you do not need a HomeHighlight account.

Go to the HomeHighlight front page and press the Content Export link.

Copy the Frame Based code to a notepad document for future reference. You can also copy this code:

!!-- Important: Don't change the code! The code must be used in its exact form in order to function properly. Also please don't edit the credit attribution.

If you wish to customize the code (with custom font, custom categories and the option to offer your visitors the co-branded newsletter), please read on to the next sub-step.

1.2 Getting the customized version of the code

!!-- Important: You need to register to HomeHighlight in order to use this feature.

Log in to your HomeHighlight account. Press the “Content Export” link. To customize your code, press the “Customize frame export” link.

Choose the family, size and color of the font from the drop-down menus.

If you check the "Customize Newsletter" box, an editing form will expand, where you can change your personal info (name, description and photo). Fill in the fields with your name and description. Press the “Browse” button to upload your photo from your computer.

The "Exclude Category" box is a tool meant to give you the choice of categories that will not appear on your site. Check the "Exclude Category" box. A new form will expand. Check the boxes next to the categories you do not want to appear on your website.

Press the "Generate HTML code" to get the code for your webpage.

Copy the Frame Based code to a notepad document for future reference.

STEP 2. PREPARING YOUR NETREAL PAGE

Log in to your NetReal account.

Press on the “My Site Builder” tab in the left-side menu to expand this section, then click on the fifth link of the submenu, “Site Content”.

The central section of the page contains a list with your website’s sections. You can find the three “Custom Page” sections at the bottom.

First you need to activate the page in order to work on its content (by default it is inactive). Click on the “Off” button to do it (the first button on the section bar). You can also integrate the HTML code into an already existent page.

We recommend you choose a title that would fit the new content. Click on the “Edit name” button. Fill in the now editable name field with your choice. Click on the “Change” button to save.

You are ready to start customizing the default content of your new custom page. Click on the “Edit content” button or on the name of the section link to expand the subsection’s menu.

Now click on the “Edit” button or on the subsection’s name to start working. This action will open a popup window containing all the tools you need.

The first form is used for uploading your photo. Under the default thumbnail there’s the “Delete photo” button you can click if you do not want to have an image on the page.

All you have to do now is to use the online editor’s form to enter the code.

STEP 3. INTEGRATING THE CODE

Press the “Toggle HTML Source” button.

Now delete all the HTML code in the online editor box. Paste the frame based code.

To finish, press the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page. And you’re all done. Check out your website to see the new page.

!!-- Important: For other types of websites, the last two steps might be different. Contact your website developers about integrating the code.
